About Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is a tradition that is meant to liberate us from physical ailments and mental suffering through alignment of the layers of our being, using the body as the main tool.
If done in a correct and introspective manner, it is meant to fortify our best qualities and to liberate from the traits and scenarios (called 'saṃskāra' in Sanskrit) that don't serve us anymore.
Consecutive order and systematic approach of the āsana practice ensure the purification of physical and nervous systems.
Shifting the gears from external perception through sense organs to internal awareness of our systems is an important skill for our well-being that becomes available by practicing the concentration and meditation techniques.
